Buhari’s government had intimidated so many into silence. Wike was the spark that kept the fire of resistance alive.
He protected Rivers State from the IPOB/UGM scourge that would have ravaged the state. Just take a look at what is happening in the SE. It’s like a warzone today.
Wike was destined to be governor for a time as this. A wartime leader.
Win or lose, he showed courage. He dared Buhari, he dared the northern oligarchy. That’s why they are afraid of him.
I may not agree with all of his decisions but I won’t take away the fact that this man and his style of politics may have been what Rivers State, southern Nigeria and Nigeria needed in these times.
