Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei is blessed in so many ways we can easily relate. An Anioma man by origin, Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei can be referred to as an Iroko Tree figuratively, whose height is very significant, both to those near and far, as he can be visibly seen by all. This is clearly significant in his accomplishments in his professional life, through leadership.
Currently an executive of NIMASA, his input in the advancement of his current office is so gigantic that not many people can have their feet, fit into the shoes he wears there, having raised the bar through his excellent achievements in office through innovation and strategy.
As the Executive Director of NIMASA, his duties cuts across safety and the enhancement of best practices in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, is committed to the enthronement of global best practices in the provision of maritime services in Nigeria.
Their focus include effective Maritime Safety Administration, Maritime Labour Regulation, Marine Pollution Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue, Cabotage enforcement, Shipping Development and Ship Registration, Training and Certification of Seafarers, and Maritime Capacity Development, using modern tools that guarantees efficiency and effectiveness, NIMASA is determined to develop indigenous capacity and eliminate all hindrances.
As this current administration pans to its statutory end, we should expect more achievements from Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei as he takes on his next leadership role in the government of Nigeria. An Iroko tree cannot be hidden, so will Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei remain visible to all in government and outside of government, because he is well equipped by every standard of human rating and positioned to lead from the top, having equipped himself academically and in experience.
